Content decisions, topic selection, depth calibration. Every piece on this platform follows a clear set of principles about what homeowners actually need to know.

The principles that guide every topic we cover

Educational content about solar energy can go in many directions. It can oversimplify to the point of being useless. It can go so deep it becomes inaccessible. It can be subtly shaped by commercial interests. We've thought carefully about how to avoid each of those failure modes.

We calibrate depth to utility, not to impressiveness

There's a temptation in technical writing to go deeper than necessary. We resist that. The question we ask for every concept is: does a homeowner need to understand this to evaluate their options or ask better questions? If the answer is no, we don't include it or we put it in supplementary context. If the answer is yes, we cover it fully.

This principle means some topics we cover extensively that installers rarely mention, and some topics that sound impressive we address only briefly because they don't affect homeowner decision-making in a meaningful way.

We don't draw conclusions for you

Gopesi doesn't tell you whether solar makes sense for your home. We don't know your consumption, your roof, your utility rates, or your financial situation. What we do is explain the factors so you can engage meaningfully with people who do know your situation.

This isn't a limitation of the platform. It's a design choice. Generic conclusions about solar being "worth it" or "not worth it" are less useful than understanding the variables that determine the answer for your specific case.

We acknowledge uncertainty where it exists

Solar energy involves real variables that can't be predicted with precision: future utility rates, long-term panel degradation rates, grid regulation changes, technology evolution. We don't present speculative projections as facts. When a concept involves genuine uncertainty, we say so and explain what that uncertainty means for how to think about the decision.

We apply Polish context where it matters

Much solar education content is written for US or Western European markets and doesn't reflect the specific regulatory, grid, and climate context of Poland. Where Polish-specific context is relevant — prosumer regulation, grid connection procedures, regional irradiation patterns — we address it directly rather than leaving homeowners to figure out which generic information applies to their situation.

How a topic moves from question to platform content

Topic identification

We start from real homeowner questions and confusion points. What do people consistently misunderstand? Where do gaps in knowledge lead to poor questions or missed evaluation criteria? Topic selection begins with the homeowner experience, not with what's technically interesting.

Technical grounding

We research the technical basis for each topic using engineering literature, manufacturer documentation, and regulatory sources. We distinguish between established physics, manufacturer specifications, and industry conventions. These categories are treated differently in the final content.

Depth calibration

We then apply the utility test: what level of understanding does a homeowner actually need from this topic? We strip out content that serves complexity for its own sake and expand sections that have practical decision-relevance even when they're not commonly covered in consumer-facing materials.

Review and context

Content is reviewed against the principle of not drawing conclusions for the reader. We add appropriate caveats where variables make general statements unreliable. We flag where professional assessment is required rather than implying that educational content substitutes for it.

What this platform covers

Gopesi focuses on residential photovoltaic systems in the context of Polish homeowners. Our scope includes PV technology fundamentals, system component explanations, performance factor analysis, proposal evaluation guidance, regulatory context in Poland, and preparation frameworks for installer meetings.

We also cover battery storage at an educational level, including the key questions homeowners should understand before requesting a storage proposal.

What this platform does not cover

We do not provide financial analysis, ROI calculations, or advice about whether solar is a good investment for your specific situation. We do not assess or recommend specific installers, products, or brands. We do not provide engineering assessments of roof suitability or structural capacity.

For all of these, you need professionals with access to your specific situation. Our role is to help you engage with those professionals more effectively, not to replace them.
